It's Saturday night at the local pub, and the owner is trying something new: mandatory karaoke night. Good news is, drinks are free. Bad news is, you have to sing a song to get one. Do you dare?

Keldar has no idea what karaoke is. HOWEVER what he can do is sing. He's a bard.

This is probably the first time anyone has heard him sing.

He's good.

Currently he's singing a rather ribald song that involves a tree spirit doing things with its branches that really... wooden.

When he's done, he gives a big and deep bow.

Jane is totally drunk enough to clap. Also, to wonder if he'll teach her the words; she has a few old Army buddies who'd probably like the song. (They play D&D on leave.)

"Sing another one!"

"What sort?" he calls out.

He's not drunk yet. When he's done performing he will be.

[watsonyourmind]

"Something funny!" she shouts back.

[shiftylyingbardwholies]

"All right." There's a moment as he picks a song and then starts to sing a song about a pair of drunks who mistake each other for their wives.

Watson thinks this is great. And perhaps slightly homophobic but she can ignore that. She's happy. She is his greatest fan at the moment, which is funny because usually she thinks that he's pretty weird.

It's not intentionally homophobic. Well, more like it's not something he'd ever think about. It's a funny song that's all it is to him.

And she's only his greatest fan likely because she's drunk.

When he's done, again, he bows.

There's that bard. That bard who so kindly misdirected him. Colwyn hooks an arm around his shoulder with a smile.

"A bard after all."

Okay, arm around shoulders by guy he tricked. Possibly not a good thing. Right. doesn't seem to be upset though, just yet.

"Of course. I wouldn't lie about that! It'd ruin my reputation as a bard."

"Your reputation."

Colwyn can be rather frightening when he chooses to be, when he unleashes his temper as a royal and as a warrior. He's not inclined to it at the moment, but it does seem fair to make Keldar squirm a bit. So there's just the threat of his anger.

"And what reputation would that be, exactly?"

And Keldar disapproves of violence and warriors, especially when directed at him.

"My reputation as a good bard, of course."

[rescuethatprincess]

He motions around the room with his mug.

"Is this the same, and only, answer I would receive, were I to inquire?"

[shiftylyingbardwholies]

"From them? I have no idea," Keldar says, wondering if he could get away from the large man's arm safely. "It's a personal thing."

"Personally, I find you misdirected me."

He'd gotten his answer and wasn't harmed in the process, which means he's not angry. But. Really. He can't allow such things to become acceptable.

"Did I?" Somehow Keldar manages to sound fantastically innocent in this turn of events.

"You sound surprised."

"Why would I misdirect you?"
