Getting a Dog: Pros and Cons

Pros
1. Dogs are great companions.
2. It would be kind to take in a stray.
3. Pets lower your blood pressure.
4. I want one.
5. It will teach Shirley responsibility. And structure.

Cons
1. If we leave, the dog will still be here, all alone.
2. I would miss the dog if we left it here.
3. We live in a hotel room. Dogs need space.
4. It may be a crazy magic dog or something. (Note to self: make sure dog isn't really a man.)

Yeah, I still don't know if this is a good idea.
nopolicelikeholmes: hopefully no one will notice (just stay cool)

I don't think walkies are going to be enough. Sometimes dogs just get bored of staring at the same four walls and decide to chew on all of your things instead.

[ Shirley identifies with this feature of dogs. ]

They probably do it more if they're bored.

I doubt we'll be able to synchronize our boredom that closely.

Also, you should totally stop using me as an excuse. That doesn't go so far in convincing me as it seems to do for you.
nopolicelikeholmes: you're my only hope (help me watson-wan kenobi)

I do see the benefit! I just want to be a responsible pet owner, okay.

[ Because if we get a dog it'll be our dog, right? ♥ ]

Also I don't want my things chewed on too much.

Yes. I'm completely pro-dog once we find somewhere to live that has both a sitting room and a kitchen.

Then the dog will have more space to run around in?
nopolicelikeholmes: (diet pepsi and mentos!)

We should cover the entire floor in king-sized futons. Then we won't even need furniture!
nopolicelikeholmes: (cheerful)

[personal profile] nopolicelikeholmes 2013-02-09 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe not literally the entire floor. Just most of it.
nopolicelikeholmes: (I would like to lodge a complaint)

I reserve the right to install small public weirdness projects as I see fit.

I reserve the right to hide in any closet whenever I want.
nopolicelikeholmes: that's the periodic table in the background (I have this bitch memorized)

No, you should be able to deduce that I'm in there. Think of it as practice!

If I'm trailing cigarette ashes all over the apartment the fact that I'm sitting in a closet is probably the least of your concerns.
nopolicelikeholmes: (that night on your porch)

Maybe.

I'll think about it.

If I remember.
