Guests are also free to explore the grounds and gardens, which have all been lit up for your enjoyment. Small nooks and crannies are also available for more intimate drinking and talk.

[Normally he would be wary of sharing his identity with a stranger -- likely from the Earth Kingdom, judging from her eyes -- but in this strange land, he feels like the old grievances don't always apply. He returns her bow.]

Well, Korra knew more of the future than Lin did. Or at least she'd dreamed something pretty plausible. If people were being bothered out of their proper homes, maybe they were being taken out of their proper times as well.

She so desperately wants this to be true, but the idea of expressing that just causes a lump in her throat. How do you say such big things? She's never been good at that. Her mother always wore her heart out in public. Lin was a bit more reserved.

But she can't say nothing. She's been silent for a long moment as it is. ]

You know Toph Bei Fong, don't you?

[ Explaining this is not going to be easy. ]

[ Lin swallows. Then she speaks, carefully, as if this illusion would break any moment. ]

You might find this difficult to believe, but I assure you I am telling the truth. She's my mother.

Yes, Iroh is quite surprised. Children grow up and have children of their own, of course, but it's hard to reconcile the child he shared tea with on the road with the grown woman he sees before him. Never mind the fact that, when he last saw Toph, she was a child.]

[But this is a strange place, and Iroh is not naive enough to believe anything is impossible.

Eventually, he smiles.]

[ Lin smiles back, with a grin that not many who know her have ever seen. This is so strange, but at the same time, so amazing. She'd been quite little when dear Uncle Iroh had died, but her mother had told her so many stories about him that there was no way she'd ever forget him. ]

You're much quicker to accept the strangeness of this place than I was.
