Small white notices are going up in various businesses across Burby. Hand-written neatly, they say simply:
Seeking information about an incident that occurred at - (and this is the address of Alec's business) - on 12 April. If you were in the area and saw anything at all unusual, please report to - (and this, not unexpectedly, is the address of the tiny police station where Lin holds court).
These notices are accompanied by another one, written in the same careful handwriting.
Burby Police Force is recruiting new officers. Please apply in person on Monday, 29 Apr to - well, you get the point.
Lin has been busy, no matter what any private detectives might be saying.

[ Actually,
although she is a tiny bit hopeful,she doesn't really think there's any chance of Lin hiring her.There may, in fact, be a negative probability of this occurring.
Lin had said something about wanting to interview Conan and herself about the murder, though, so perhaps that's still the case - and, if not, Shirley feels a little bad about how she reacted to being kicked off the case, so to speak. So maybe she can apologize, if nothing else.
