text to wesley: action elsewhere.
[Someone only barely figured out how to use a filter. As it is, it's a fail!filter and still goes out to the entire village. Oops. Can you blame her? She's excited.]
[Text to Wesley and accidentally everyone else.]
Somehow managed to get two jobs since I've been here. I can't even begin to explain how excited I am right now.
[Action: Morning: The Jasmine Dragon.]
[Come see Charlie for all your tea-related needs. She's still technically in training so she might flub stuff. But don't worry. She's quick to recover and your tea will always be piping hot.]
[action: evening: unnamed junk store.]
[She's only here for a couple hours. Still getting used to the place and sort of trying to keep things organized. She also stopped on her way from her first job to here to get sandwiches and food for herself and her boss. She'll be wandering around, looking at everything in the shop and trying to remember what objects do what.]

There are the Other One Rings which Alec described as being something along the lines of Sort of like the One Ring from the Lord of the Rings but... not quite... when picked up they do give a feeling of great power... and sparkles. Some other items in the shop give off similar feelings. Including a lightsaber with a rainbow colored beam, a bow, a couple of swords... some wands... stuff.'
He also has some actual weapons in there that don't "sparkle" and are well used. One or two give off whispers of intelligence when she walks too close to them, promising power if she'd only take them and free them from Alec's grasp. They speak of his evil and dangerous powers. If she just took one of them...
The books range from Children's books to ancient grimores that should fall apart with a touch. Alec spends time repairing them with careful skill.
Finally there are just normally weird nicknacks and brickabrack.
Alec comes into the shop with a grin as he's holding a large stone the shape of a jelly bean and a sort of off purple color. Trey is sitting on his shoulder hissing at the stone with serious dislike.]
Hey Charlie! How's things?
no subject
Same with the talking swords. They don't get much attention from her, either. Just a couple words now and then that range from "quiet, you" to "I'm powerful enough." to "Oh, shut up." Mostly done in a teasing way, but she's still not going to touch them.
Alec gets a grin, as does Trey.]
It's quiet. Save for the usual in-shop noise. I'm...still adjusting to that.
[And in reference to the jelly bean thing.] What's that?
no subject
Yeah. It's hard to get a gag order on half this stuff.
[He sets the stone down on the counter and it starts to slide off.]
It's frictionless!
no subject
Wow. [Charlie's going to try to catch the frictionless bean, looking at Alec with amusement.]
How can an object be frictionless?
[...asks the girl who's currently standing in the middle of one of the wildest shops ever.]
no subject
Dunno. But that's what the rules of the world said it was.
[He pokes it idly and it starts going in the other direction like an air hockey puck.]
I'll probably need a box for this.
no subject
[Charlie heads off to the back of the shop, returning a moment later with what she's hoping really is an empty file box.]
If this doesn't work, we can always tie bells to it so we know where it is at all times.
no subject
[Actually that begs the question, how did Alec carry it into the shop in the first place... but this is Alec we're talking about. He and reality have a subjective relationship with each other.]
Hold the box up to the counter and I'll push it into it.
no subject
[Charlie readies the box, one hand free in case the bean thing decides to go elsewhere.
She'll even help some when the bean gets close enough, guiding it with a soft nudge. When it's secure in the box, Charlie looks at it and tilts her head slightly.]
Is it supposed to have a crack in it?
no subject
Crack? What crack?
[Alec is suddenly very tense and alert. He doesn't want a pet Eragon verse dragon... Knowing his tendencies for attracting these things he's now very worried.]
no subject
[And the crack gets a bit bigger when she's not looking.]
no subject
It's an egg, you see?
I didn't think it'd hatch. I thought I dormented it.
[Of course then again his powers run on the Need of Plot, so there. Also dormented is not a word, so of course whatever he tried to do didn't work.]
no subject
You're going to tell me what kinda egg, right?
no subject
Telepathic dragon, to be exact.
[Alec is SO not touching this egg.]
no subject
Of course, this is a terrible life choice and the moment her hand is near enough, the dragon's claw reaches out and latches onto her finger for just a moment. Charlie gasps, yanking her hand away and shaking it as if something's just burnt it, stung it and bit it all at once.]
Son of a bitch!
[There's more shaking, more frowning at the egg and then Charlie looks at her hand. And stares in some confusion and mild alarm.]
What else can you tell me about the dragon? Because I don't remember this scar on my hand at all.
[It's certainly the weirdest scar she's ever seen.]
no subject
[He peers at the dragon uncertainly]
will die when you die, unable to live without you.
Magic... you'll be able to use magic. I could probably help you with that.
no subject
[But that's too bad for Charlie because the dragon is now watching her with undivided attention. Charlie is busy looking at the mark of her hand. The dragon, who is the same color as it's egg, is trying to climb out of the box at Charlie's feet with some success.]
Does this happen to a lot of people who arrive in this town or did I just luck out?
[And what the fuck is she even to do with a dragon?]
no subject
[He grabs the sandwiches and hands them over to her.] Here Feed.
[Then Alec looks a bit sheepish.]
Well... this is my fault as I snatched the egg from some other world. I didn't actually expect it to hatch. So it's really not the the town's fault so much as just what happens around me.
no subject
Once she's up again, she takes the sandwich and stares at it. This was all...wild and all over the place.]
I better get used to it then, huh? So...[Dragon owner. She was a dragon owner. So she better start learning. Meanwhile, she'll most likely be wearing longer sleeves to hide that mark on her hand. She doesn't need more reason to stand out.]
How can I tell if this dragon is male or female? And what's a good name for a dragon?
no subject
[No, he didn't just hack up a hairball there. It was a name.]
Generally they'll either tell you their name... or disagree with whatever name you try to give them until they find one they like.
As for gender... dunno on that one. Some dragon types have specific coloration. Like Trey up there. Browns are always male. But these... I guess you'd have to ask when she? is older.
no subject
Hey! Looks like you're settling in okay.

[Seriously, Jane. She's stayed in some pretty shady, fairly gross hotels. Some of which advertised per hour rates. NOT THAT THAT'S WHY SHE WAS THERE.]
no subject
[ She doesn't seem to mind too much, though. ] We're going to get a dog, though, so we needed more space.

Though, I think you might have misdirected your message in that excitement.
[Guess who's really good with that sort of thing?]
Re: text
Re: text
Though, if you want, I could probably help you figure these things out.

Re: text
[ What. ]
Everything I'm used to back home is a lot more advanced than anything I've seen here, but I don't think that'll be too much of a problem.
So, what are these two jobs you've got?
Re: text
I work for Iroh at The Jasmine Dragon and at the unnamed junk shop. Both part time but I like keeping busy so this works.
